Ayer se concedieron los Globos de Oro en el Hotel Beverly Hilton de Los Angeles en una Gala en la que lo mas destacable fue que la película triunfadora no es ninguna superprodución al mas puro estilo Hollywood sino mas bien todo lo contrario, una producción independiente llamada Slumdog Millionaire protagonizada por actores hindús y que relata las peripecias de un joven tras participar en el concurso “Quien quiere ser millonario”. En el apartado de Comedia o Musical el Globo de Oro fue para Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Destaca también el doble triunfo de Kate Winslet en las categorías de actriz principal dramática y actriz secundaria dramática (en detrimento de Penélope Cruz), y el galardón para Mickey Rourke como Mejor actor dramático por su papel en “The Wrestler”.
La otra baza española de la noche, Javier Bardem, tampoco se llevó el premio al mejor actor de comedia o musical que fue a parar a manos de Colin Farrell (Escondidos en Brujas).
Los dos motivos mas emotivos de la noche fueron la entrega del premio especial a Steven Spielberg en honor a toda su carrera, y el momento en el que Demi Moore leía el nombre del fallecido Heath Ledger como ganador del premio al mejor actor de reparto.
En los apartados de las series de televisión, Mad men y Rockefeller Plaza se adjudicaron los apartados dramático y cómico respectivamente. En las categorás dse interpretación, Rockefeller Plaza hizo doblete en los apartados de comedia con Alec Baldwin y Tina Fey. Las interpretaciones dramáticas fueron para Gabriel Byrne por “En tratamiento” y Anne Paquin por True Blood.
