To resume section of hotels that I have a bit left going to comment this hotel in the Portuguese capital, but not to recommend to the contrary because after several nights stay at this hotel, I can say it is without doubt the worst 5 stars in which I have ever been.
As I mentioned earlier, the main reason why I usually write little about hotels is that it is difficult to be objective in assessments because depending on the season to be or play room you can have large variations. In this case things are different as well as my own experience, I could discuss the various aspects of the hotel with enough people who have stayed the same days.
Besides price, I've seen on sites like Destinia or Edreams around 60 euros a night, I have not been able to find another positive point.
Located in the financial area of the city, near the shopping area and about 200 meters of public transport.
The hotel has 518 rooms after the last renovation in 2003 that are distributed throughout its 24 floors. We had an executive room on the ground 20 and has good views of the aqueduct of Lisbon, and comparatively with respect to the standard rooms have a plasma TV and little else. The rooms are rather small, and have internet 10 euros an hour and a hair dryer under the desk (very useful if you like dry your hair as you type). The bathroom is ok in size but are extremely rácanos with bath products and had to call twice to get the refilled.
The decor of the rooms, hallways and the lobby is one of the few things saved from the burning, with modern touches and original.
Among the negatives, we found rooms that do not have hot water and one or two that do not have water directly. In the absence of soap, gel or other product bathroom at the front desk tell you what you can bring in and that's the next day.
But one thing that caught my attention in a special way man then went to become the main issue of concern for people, is the subject of the elevators. Only 4 lifts not too big for an occupancy of more than 1000 people assumed that in Sometimes we have waited over half an hour when the elevator reached the 20th floor and once I downloaded the 20-story walk (which comes in handy for exercising the legs but do not think that the idea of a 5 stars .)
To complaints, the response of the hotel is coming down all over the world at the same time. The fact is that in a perfect world, everyone would agree to use the elevators at different times, but it is that people eat breakfast at the same time, dine out, more or less same and obviously wants to use the elevator.
The part of bar and restaurant leaves something to be desired. As for breakfast (I can only appreciate the restaurant) is buffet style but I did not like too much, with little variety of food and a truly terrible coffee. The bar-pub only has the level of 5 stars in the price, which they charge 9 euros for a beer but it takes an awful lot and explain how to prepare a cocktail of rum with lemon is almost impossible.
In conclusion I will say I did not know this chain before but do not think I take a chance to try their other facilities in Malta, Prague or Budapest. I've been several times in Lisbon, and there are hotels of 3 and 4 stars but recommended.
